PAUL’S PRAYER FOR SPIRITUAL WISDOM
Ephesians 1:15-23

Paul had continually prayed for the church at Ephesus every since he heard of their strong faith JESUS CHRIST and their love for Christians everywhere. He prayed for their “spiritual wisdom”, and, that they would use the “spiritual resources” that we all have, as believers in CHRIST, to grow in the knowledge of GOD.
Paul’s “intercessory prayers” in Ephesians, as well as Colossians help us to know, and gives us guidance, as to how we can pray for others who serve in the body of CHRIST. He prayed that their hearts and thoughts would be “flooded with the light” of CHRIST, so that they would truly grasp the promise of the wonderful future that GOD calls us to, as Christians. GOD wants us to really recognize the “rich” and “glorious” inheritance that HE gives to those who believe in CHRIST JESUS, our LORD.
JESUS CHRIST was “raised up” into sovereign power, and Paul wanted Christians to understand that the incredible greatness of that power is more than just “resurrection power”. It is the power that catapulted
JESUS into a place of supremacy at the right hand of GOD the FATHER (Vs.19-20).
Now JESUS is far greater than any ruler or authority or anything else in this world, or, the world to come. All things have been put under the authority of JESUS CHRIST for the benefit of the Church, HIS body. The “True Church”, which exists only in those who believe, is filled by the omnipresence of JESUS, our LORD and SAVIOR, and shares, or has access, to that power, whenever, and wherever, we need it (Vs.21-23).
